Technological Entrepreneurship Proposals
Technology. Entrepreneurship. Writing. When do all three come together? In technological entrepreneurship proposal competitions! In these competitions, a prompt specifies the technological area, e.g. Internet of Things (IoT) connected devices, and competitors are supposed to develop an original technological idea and write a proposal about the idea.
A friend of mine who successfully competed in a worldwide competition during his sophomore year introduced me to this world. I was intrigued. We ended up collaborating with several other friends in several of these technological entrepreneurship proposals. At the time of this writing, I am currently involved in three of these challenges: Global Innovation Exchange (GIX), Lockheed Martin Challenge, and a T-Mobile challenge.
I am not too certain why I enjoy these competitions. Perhaps it's the creativity involved in developing ideas. Maybe it's exploring different technologies that can make that idea come true. Maybe it's that excitement about potential wins. Maybe it's the time well-spent with friends discussing ideas and potential future plans.
As someone who wants to be involved in tech entrepreneurship in the future, these are golden opportunities to receive feedback on potential startup ideas. Feedback on whether there is a market or potential market for these technologies. Another benefit is potential funding. Successful proposals often receive funding to develop their technological ideas.
